Streamlined Manufacturing with Industrial Heat Exchangers

In an increasingly more global economy, manufacturers are always in search of ways to streamline operations to remain competitive. For many facilities, that has been largely successful thanks to the innovation of industrial heat exchangers. In an industry where large-scale machinery operates constantly, sometimes around the clock, finding a reliable, cost-efficient, and eco-friendly way to keep that equipment running has significantly improved productivity all around. Industrial heat exchangers also help ensure that high-performance technology and equipment performs at optimum efficiency, saving time and costs by minimizing maintenance and downtime. (more…)

Why Heat Exchangers Are a Good Fit for Oil & Gas

Oil and gas manufacturing has always been area for concern when it comes to safety and environmental impact. In more than most other industries, inefficient operations can lead to disastrous consequences not just for the company, but also for the surrounding environment and community. Today, the industry faces increasingly more scrutiny and pressure to streamline operations, and in many cases, heat exchangers are providing the means to make significant steps in that direction. Improving Power Plant Productivity with Heat Exchangers

In virtually every industry, power consumption is a necessity for any company’s continued operations. Therefore, technology that offers minimal energy consumption is typically preferable, especially for applications that typically draw on large amounts of it. The process of producing and distributing power, for instance, is one that not only requires energy-efficient technology, but also thermal management solutions that help keep that technology running smoothly. To that end, advanced heat exchangers are becoming an increasingly more popular for power plant technology, thanks in large part to their ability to operate continuously with minimal energy requirements. 2 Methods for Transferring Heat Efficiently

Organizations that have relied on air conditioning for their electrical thermal management needs have long wished for more efficient technology, both in terms of energy consumption and reliability. For many of them, heat exchangers have been the most optimal solution, and their secret lies in replacing air conditioning with more natural methods of transferring heat. While heat exchangers come in a variety of types, many of them utilize one of two highly efficient methods, natural/forced convection and latent heat of vaporization. (more…)

In-House Manufacturing for Better Results and Faster Turnarounds

Modern design and manufacturing processes can be complicated, especially for heat exchangers that come in various designs with varying specifications. A significant part of what sets Noren apart is the ability to design and modify thermal management solutions according to each application’s unique needs. To do so efficiently, we’ve outfitted our facilities with advanced, in-house design and manufacturing capabilities that allow us to create rapid prototypes, test components, make adjustments, and complete production all under one roof. The Difference that Air-to-Water Heat Exchangers Make

When the ambient temperature outside of an electrical enclosure is below the maximum operating temperature of the equipment inside of it, an ambient heat exchanger may be the most efficient thermal management options. However, when the enclosure is located in a particularly hot area, ambient cooling may not be sufficient. Fortunately, air-to-water heat exchangers can provide below-ambient cooling that is as efficient and ecofriendly as air-to-air heat exchangers. Below-ambient heat exchangers can often be ideal for electrical components that produce high amounts of waste heat and require higher levels of thermal conductivity. (more…)

Why Heat Exchangers and Computers Go Well Together

Computers have become such an integral part of our lives that we often don’t immediately recognize them. Everything from cellphones to watches and wearable health devices are essentially small, powerful computers, and as such, they rely on advanced thermal management solutions to continue operating without overheating. Given the size and consistent use of everyday computers, heat exchanger technology has become an important thermal management solution for a wide variety of consumer products. Their simple, customizable designs and ability to offer reliable, long-lasting cooling benefits are a big reason why heat exchangers and advanced computers go so well together.   (more…)

How to Save on Cooling in Hazardous Locations

Over the last several decades, a variety of industries have taken advantage of heat exchanger technology to cut down on the energy and maintenance costs of running electrical equipment. Today, even facilities and equipment that operate in hazardous conditions can enjoy the same benefits thanks to Noren’s Hazloc heat exchangers, which are certified per UL/cUL as well as ATEX and IECEx standards. As the first manufacturer to gain this certification for its advanced line of thermal management products, Noren continues to proudly help clients save on thermal management in hazardous locations. Cooling Down Control Panels with Air-to-Air Heat Exchangers

Without the need to chill electrical enclosures using air conditioning equipment, companies can save a significant amount of money on energy and maintenance costs. Yet, those benefits only matter if the replacement solution provides more efficient and reliable thermal management. Air-to-air heat exchangers, for instance, have helped Noren’s clients enjoy substantial savings in both energy and maintenance costs as well as improved productivity thanks to more reliable electrical cooling. The secret to why they’re so effective lies in how air-to-air heat exchangers work—namely, their ability to transfer heat to cool down electrical enclosures without having to chill the air inside of them.
